Victoria Bartlett, director of Brightfires Media has created large launch events for theatre production companies and their clients at the very highest level.
9 to 5 The Musical
When 9 to 5 The Musical launched in the UK, Victoria was responsible for all of the event management for the opening night at the Savoy Theatre, including the party afterwards at the Savoy Hotel. There were 1,200 people in attendance, including investors, journalists, celebrities and friends and family of the crew and cast.
From start to finish it was a slick and stylish event to showcase the production and celebrate the story coming to a UK stage. From the marketing materials and seating plan, to the food and drink and logistics, we had it covered!
The exciting highlight was organising the secret route and timing of Dolly Parton’s entrance onto the stage to address the audience at the end of the show, as a big surprise, and then sneak her away so she could be whisked off to the airport.
It was all a resounding success and the musical continues to entertain theatregoers with it’s fun performance and clear ‘girl power’ message. We’re proud to have been a part of it from the beginning of it’s UK journey.
Ian at 80
Ian McKellen announced he was going to do 80 West End dates as a one-man show to celebrate his 80th birthday. An evening which gave people a whirlwind tour of his career including a reading from Lord of the Rings, anecdotes about his Shakespeare days and a revival of his panto dame Widow Twankey – all performed with great talent and a twinkle in his eye.
All the profits from the subsequent tour of theatres great and small went towards different causes at each theatre – from repairs to outreach programmes and talent development.
The gala evening we organised was akin to a birthday party for Ian, with all his favourite people there to celebrate his decades of award-winning work. At the same time, the event could not be too elaborate. It had to keep in mind what was important to Ian and the purpose of the tour – to raise money for struggling theatres and build their success.
Betrayal
When Jamie Lloyd’s revival of Betrayal hit the West End with Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Cox and Zawe Ashton on stage, ATG wanted an opening night party that had all the class and elegance of the Pinter play.
An Italian themed evening in the bowels of St Martin-in-the-Fields, with a live band and candlelight, was the perfect evening to celebrate an incredible stage achievement and reflect the haunting story.
